We completed the pursuit-phase engineering and proposal development, design-phase engineering, and construction-phase services. Although the Design-Build Team did not have the lowest bid, the Team was able to win the project based on the strength of the technical proposal and the Team’s innovative design and construction approach. Slope stabilization included the use of hollow-bar soil nails, which facilitated rapid construction in caving soils, and an A-frame micropile structure. The demanding schedule of the project required submittal of 90% plans for 10 of the 12 sites one week after notice-to-proceed. RFC plans were submitted approximately one month after notice-to-proceed.
