Dan Markowski has experience completing geotechnical field subsurface exploration programs and mapping complex structural geology to support major infrastructure projects across the nation. Dan’s experience includes projects for FHWA, state DOTs, local agencies and municipalities, and Class I Railroads. Dan has overseen and logged geotechnical borings drilled with solid and hollow stem auger, mud and air rotary, cased and uncased downhole hammer casing advance, NQ3 and HQ3 rock core, and sonic drilling methods. Dan’s experience ranges in complexity from logging shallow pavement explorations to coordinating sonic drilling in active rock glaciers and 300-foot inclined borings with completed with groundwater instrumentation. Dan has performed installation and monitoring of complex geotechnical instrumentation systems including vibrating wire piezometers, inclinometers, extensometers, tiltmeters, and telemetry arrays. His expertise also includes completing geologic mapping of soil and rock deposits and characterization of landslides.
