Christopher Darrah has spent the entirety of his career with Shannon & Wilson, joining the Seattle office in 1987 and transferring to Fairbanks in 1992. Based in Alaska, he has led hazardous site assessment, cleanup, and long-term monitoring projects statewide, with extensive experience in environmental field studies and subsurface explorations at RCRA and Superfund sites. His work includes installing, sampling, and decommissioning groundwater monitoring wells; executing site investigations and environmental site assessments (ESAs); supporting underground storage tank (UST) closures; and performing monitoring for bioremediation projects, ranging from short-duration assessments to multi-year aquifer plume delineations. Chris also prepares regulatory-compliant reporting and develops feasibility studies and corrective action designs to meet ADEC, EPA, and USACE requirements.
As Vice President and the Fairbanks Office Manager, Chris oversees staffing and resourcing to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to client and regulatory expectations. His contract management experience includes environmental-compliance audits, technical guidance development, and implementation of practical corrective actions across a wide range of site conditions.
