James Zschau, RG

Senior Geologist


Jim has provided more than 33 years of experience in a wide variety of geological and geotechnical engineering related projects for the Shannon & Wilson Saint Louis office.

Jim has performed a multitude of services including field reconnaissance and mapping, soil and rock exploration, coring, sample classification, and logging; piezometer and monitoring well development; geotechnical instrumentation;  railroad embankment stabilization and drainage improvements; levee and dam construction; installation of shallow and deep foundations and retaining walls; aggregate and concrete production, placement, and testing, including roller compacted concrete; engineered fill construction and compaction testing; and report preparation. Jim has experience in drill and blast and TBM mining methods involved with the underground construction operations of railroad, water supply, and sewer tunnels. He has also been involved with work on hazardous waste sites, landfills, and underground storage tank remediation and closure efforts.
