Mark has more than 36 years of field, laboratory, and management experience in Alaska, Canada, the Lower 48 states, and Greenland. He has conducted and managed geologic and environmental projects throughout Alaska, including preacquisition site assessments, construction planning, spill responses, regulatory compliance audits, release investigations, underground and above-ground storage tank closures, characterization and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, mine site characterization and remediation/restoration, and water-well installation and rehabilitation. He is experienced in sampling various media including rock, soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and building materials. He has collected samples using various drilling methods including hollow-stem auger, direct push, air rotary, reverse circulation, and diamond core remote locations.

Mark routinely uses Geographic Information System (GIS) developed to handle large quantities of environmental data and has been instrumental in efforts to develop data-sharing and data-quality standards within Shannon & Wilson and the environmental community.
