Judy Hepner joined Shannon & Wilson in 2013. She is experienced in environmental support; drinking water, groundwater, soil, surface water, leachate, and air sampling, laboratory services, statistical evaluation, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), project management, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections. Since 2014, Judy has been serving as one of the primary field personnel and report authors for Shannon & Wilson’s Alaska landfill monitoring contracts, including for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and Kenai Peninsula Borough Active and Closed Landfills, Anchorage Regional Landfill, International Airport Landfill, Merril Field Landfill, the City of Unalaska Landfill, Kodiak Island Borough Landfill, and the Peters Creek Landfill for the Municipality of Anchorage.
Judy's project scope has included assisting in data management and evaluation using Access, Excel, SQL, and Terrabase, and preparation of technical reports, including landfill quality assurance project plans (QAPPs). Judy has performed numerous ASTM International and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) lab analyses of soils in support of geotechnical studies. This work includes laboratory procedures for measuring soil and aggregate properties such as grain-size distribution, hydrometers, and moisture-density relationships. Her environmental services include technical writing, environmental support, soil sampling, floor drain assessments, groundwater sampling, data management and evaluation using Excel, and preparation of technical reports
