With more than 18 years of experience in geotechnical design, construction and research, Mike has worked on diverse range of civil engineering and construction projects involving a wide range of soil and rock types.  His broad-based geotechnical engineering experience includes studies and recommendations for projects including fish passage facilities, trenched and tunneled pipeline installations; wastewater, stormwater, and water supply facilities; commercial and industrial buildings; road, railroad and light rail transit alignments and bridges; and highway and railroad embankments.  His technical experience includes geotechnical site characterization, geosynthetics, soil improvement, and grouting design, risk assessment and mitigation of landslide hazards, design of shallow and deep foundations, temporary shoring design, slope stability analysis, liquefaction analysis, experimental soil mechanics and geotechnical report preparation.
