David Sousa recently graduated from Oregon State University, earning his Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering with a minor in Water Resources. There, his research focused on analyzing post-wildfire debris flow susceptibility in Oregon. David’s methodological approach integrates hydraulic and sediment transport numerical modeling, the mapping of landslides and channelized debris flows, laboratory testing, and field investigations to solve critical geotechnical challenges. His broader research and professional experience encompasses embankment stability and granular filters in earth dams. Applying advanced proficiency in MATLAB and soil mechanics, David is dedicated to advancing sustainable engineering solutions and resilient resource management practices.
