At NRCS, Scott participated in numerous geotechnical soils investigations, logging soils, and collecting samples, in support of conservation engineering projects. He also conducted geophysical investigations to evaluate subsurface characteristics and determine depth to bedrock at project sites. Before NRCS, Scott worked as a Hydrologic Technician at the United States Geological Survey (USGS), where he assisted in monitoring stream and groundwater sites by conducting stream stage, discharge, and groundwater level measurements as well as working with large hydrologic data sets.
