Sam Freeman, RG
Geologist
Sam Freeman joined Shannon & Wilson’s Portland office in 2024 as a Geologist. He has over 5 years of experience in geologic explorations, including surface mapping and reconnaissance, geotechnical drilling, rock coring, soil sampling, and characterization of subsurface conditions. Sam also obtains significant experience with construction observation services for long-term and short-term infrastructure and private development projects, including monitoring and documenting ground improvements, shoring and pile driving operations, mass grading, and foundation preparation. Sam performs data collection and processing for piezometer and inclinometer installations, as well as cross-hole sonic logging of drilled shaft piers. When not in the field, Sam assists the Shannon & Wilson Engineering Staff Team with the preparation of geologic engineering reports as well as ASTM laboratory testing.
