Katarah Glashan joined Shannon & Wilson's Anchorage Geotechnical Services Group in 2023. Since joining, she has provided geotechnical support for projects in the Anchorage area, on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska, and in remote Alaskan villages. She provides support across a wide range of field operations, including observing track-mounted drill rigs, excavators, and offshore drilling activities; conducting site reconnaissance and geologic mapping both by hand and using UAVs; and accessing remote sites via helicopter, snowmachine, side-by-side vehicles, boats, and on foot. Her experience includes classifying and logging soils and detail logging rock core, detail rock mapping, conducting shear wave velocity testing with geophones, ground resistivity testing, UAV photogrammetry, and environmental field screening and sampling.
