Geotechnical Staff

Kat Spence has 6 years of experience practicing geotechnical engineering on public works, transportation, flood control, industrial, and civic projects. She has managed field explorations from planning through drilling oversight, coordinated laboratory testing, and collected high-quality piezometer and inclinometer data to support final design. Kat has performed slope stability and seepage analyses for embankments and levees, settlement evaluations in soft soils, and foundation analyses for bridges, retaining walls, and buildings. She has extensive experience in providing pavement recommendations and stormwater infiltration design input for roadway improvements, as well as construction observation and testing for grading and deep foundations, including sheet pile, auger cast, and pier installations.

Kat works effectively on design build and final design teams and helps deliver constructible solutions on schedule. In her previous experience, Kat served as an Assistant Design Engineer on community facilities and supported complex demolition and redevelopment efforts by managing drilling operations and supporting laboratory testing and geotechnical design.
