Justin Risley
Environmental Staff
Justin Risley joined Shannon & Wilson in the summer of 2020 after graduating from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a focus on environmental and structural engineering. He initially worked as a Lab Technician in our AASHTO-accredited/USACE validated lab, gaining hands-on experience in soil and asphalt testing as well as soil compaction field testing.
In his current role as an Environmental Staff Team member, Justin has led critical sampling events at sites including Gustavus, CSFS Landfill, Wrangell Airport, Cordova Airport, and Cold Bay Airport. He excels in analyzing data and producing detailed reports and recommendations. His geotechnical expertise encompasses observing pile driving, excavation bases, and deep dynamic compaction, in addition to standard borehole sampling and soil classification.
During his time at Shannon & Wilson, Justin has also managed statewide soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling events, demonstrating his strong project management skills and proficiency in diverse environmental projects.
