Rachel Willis

Rachel Willis has been with Shannon & Wilson since 2019 and supports environmental projects throughout Alaska, including the Fairbanks-North Pole vicinity, Cordova, and remote rural communities. Her project experience includes performing Phase I and II environmental site assessments (ESAs), contaminant characterization and delineation, environmental remediation, incremental sampling methodology (ISM), and field screening excavations at Department of Defense sites. Rachel has performed and overseen a wide range of site characterization and sampling activities, including groundwater and soil sampling, indoor-air and soil-gas sampling, drinking water sampling, and groundwater elevation monitoring with pressure transducers. 

As an Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Inspector, Rachel routinely performs hazardous building material assessments (HBMAs) to evaluate the presence of asbestos, lead, PCBs, and other contaminants. She has prepared site-specific plans for construction projects in areas with naturally occurring asbestos and developed asbestos compliance plans to support excavation and demolition projects. Rachel is also proficient in performing statistical analyses and generating graphical representations of environmental data to support site evaluations and decision-making.
