David Jacobson, RG
Senior Geologist
David Jacobson joined Shannon & Wilson's Portland office in September of 2018 and is now a Senior Geologist. He has significant experience in subsurface explorations, including drilling, rock coring, soil sampling, environmental sampling, and characterization and profiling of underlying soils. He also has experience performing geologic reconnaissance, site exploration, and construction observation of large-diameter drilled shafts.
David has conducted piezometer and inclinometer data collection and processing, cross-hole sonic logging (CSL) of drilled shaft piers, rock slope structure mapping for large infrastructure projects, and ASTM laboratory testing. He is also experienced in coordinating, permitting, and executing small and large exploration projects. He is adept with the use of GIS software for engineering and geologic applications, including the development of seismic hazard maps.
