Sean Wilson, PG, CEG

Senior Engineering Geologist


Sean Wilson has provided engineering geology and geotechnical services in California, Utah, and numerous other states since 1992. At Shannon & Wilson, Sean is responsible for managing geotechnical and geological evaluations for government, military, railroad, commercial, educational, and residential projects, as well as supervising project and staff-level geologists and engineers. He conducts geological and geotechnical investigations using a variety of drilling and geophysical methods, including downhole logging of large-diameter borings. Sean additionally performs observation and monitoring of engineered grading and construction, geologic hazard evaluations, landslide investigations, and environmental impact reports for CEQA compliance. 

Sean has completed thousands of geotechnical forensic evaluations of distressed properties for insurance carriers and attorneys in California, Utah, and Tennessee. He has determined the causation of damages related to differential soil movement, construction vibration, construction defects, landslides, rockfall, earthquakes, erosion, tree roots, drainage control, and water intrusion. Sean has served as a designated expert and has provided deposition and mediation testimony.
