Katra Wedeking, CPG

Senior Geologist


Katra joined Shannon & Wilson in 2003. She provides project management, field support, engineering analyses, and technical writing for a variety of geotechnical and environmental projects located throughout Alaska including the Anchorage area, the Kenai Peninsula, Southeast Alaska, Kodiak Island, remote villages, and the north slope. Project management and field activities have included on-shore and off-shore exploration programs, groundwater monitoring well installations, and surface and subsurface soil and hard rock sampling and classification. In addition, she has experience with analytical sampling for environmental purposes and with frozen soil sampling, classification, and transport.

Katra has provided engineering support for conventional shallow foundations, pile foundations, frost protected shallow foundations, and foundations within zones of permafrost, as well as flexible and rigid pavement systems utilizing several types of design criteria.
