Over the course of his 40+ year professional career at Shannon & Wilson, Paul has primarily focused on underground engineering and railroad services. Paul's underground experience includes assessment and construction of both soft ground and rock tunnels, as well as repairs and enlargement of existing railroad tunnels. His railroad work includes new structure foundations, siding extensions, landslide repairs, and tunnel rehabilitation and enlargement. The scope of these projects includes exploration, design, preparation of construction specifications, and construction management.  His traditional geotechnical experience includes the design of shallow and deep foundations, shoring, retaining walls, fills and embankments, drainage systems, slope stability analysis, and settlement analysis.
