Take a virtual tour of the SR 520 bridge replacement project over Lake Washington. For the past 9 years, the Shannon & Wilson team in Seattle has worked extensively on this mega-project for WSDOT that includes a new floating bridge and approaches. As part of the GEC team and as geotechnical engineer of record for some portions, Shannon & Wilson performed advanced probabilistic seismic studies, dynamic soil-structure interaction analyses, contaminated materials characterization, groundwater analyses, and support for DB and DBB procurement.

Shannon & Wilson Opens New Washington, D.C. Metro Office

September 14, 2015

Shannon & Wilson recently opened a Washington, D.C. Metro office. The new location, located at 8201 Greensboro Drive, Suite 300, Tysons Corner, VA, 22102, is Shannon & Wilson’s 12th office, and allows the company to better serve clients throughout the Northeastern U.S. in addition to its already established offices in St. Louis, MO and Jacksonville, FL.

The new Washington, D.C. Metro office, which will be overseen by Dr. Axel Nitschke, Vice President and Director of Operations for Underground Services, is a part of a strategic move to widen Shannon & Wilson’s national underground services portfolio. From this new location, Shannon & Wilson will offer a full spectrum of geotechnical and underground services, and Dr. Nitschke will take an active role in strengthening Shannon & Wilson’s presence in the Northeastern Corridor.
