Joan Burgert

Joan Burgert, PE

Geotechnical Engineer

Located in the Idaho Falls office, Joan has over 20 years of experience performing site investigations and foundation recommendations for transportation related projects throughout Idaho. Joan is responsible for field logging and data collection, technical analysis, and assisting in the preparation of geotechnical engineering reports.  

Joan has worked at the state of Idaho Transportation Department, District 6 in the Design/Construction section, as well as for a handful of private engineering firms. Transportation projects in Idaho include foundation design for bridges and assessment of new roadway corridor alignments in all six transportation districts and Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC).  She has managed construction contracts which included restoring several lane miles within the City of Idaho Falls, and the installation of slope monitors remote monitoring of unstable slopes along a major US Highway Route.  In addition, Joan has created HEC-RAS, StormCAD & other hydrologic models for the design of bridges, culverts and storm water systems in Idaho.
