Fairbanks Laboratory Manager

Philip has worked in Shannon & Wilson's Fairbanks Materials Testing lab for more than six years. He has received training in field and laboratory testing of aggregates, soils, concrete and asphalt. He is certified to operate nuclear moisture density gauges for use in soil and asphalt testing. Philip participates in the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), American Materials Reference Laboratory (AMRL) and Concrete and Cement Reference Laboratory (CCRL) proficiency sample testing for our AASHTO-accredited laboratory.

Philip has been responsible for completing soil compaction testing and concrete field testing on hundreds of projects. Philip has tested thousands of soil samples in the laboratory and is familiar with the visual manual method of soil classification. He has conducted percolation testing for several geotechnical projects and has experience field logging soil borings. Philip also has experience conducting construction special inspections for soil and concrete, and experience logging the installation of slurried piles on the North Slope of Alaska.
