Bob Sas

Senior Geologist

With 10 years of professional experience in geology, geomorphology, geotechnics and geohazards, Bob is a classically-trained field geologist with expertise in landslide mapping and hazard assessment. He specializes in airborne LiDAR applications for mapping, surveying, and visualization. His experience includes projects in the US and Asia-Pacific region on slope stability, natural hazards, oil and gas, foundation engineering, site investigation, soil and bedrock mapping, quarry materials assessment, quarry remediation/stabilization, ground model development, geoarchaeology, neotectonics and environmental geology.

Bob was a technical specialist member of a small review team consulting to the Hong Kong SAR Government on revising the core technical approaches to landslide hazard studies. He has authored more than 20 technical reports, seven conference/ journal articles and has presented more than 15 seminars on geomorphology, geoarchaeology, landslide hazards and LiDAR applications. Bob was an invited keynote speaker at Software Expo Asia 2014, and a lecturer of geomorphology at Chinese University of Hong Kong.
