Alena joined Shannon & Wilson in 2016. She conducts field activities, data management and evaluation using Excel and GIS, database research, technical writing, and final preparation of reports for a variety of Alaskan environmental projects. Specific tasks included in field activities have included preliminary visual site investigations, database research (municipal, state, and federal), interviews, photoionization detection (PID) field screening, collecting drinking water samples and gas readings, groundwater/soil sampling and groundwater monitoring well installation in accordance with Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation regulations and guidance documents. Areas of focus include landfill water quality monitoring contracts for various municipalities.
