From a geotechnical perspective, railroad design and construction is multi-faceted, incorporating rockfall analysis, drainage, erosion control, slope stability, seismic analysis, and a need to maintain a suitable grade and an alignment with low curvature. In our long-term relationships with the country’s major railroads, we have learned to adapt sound geotechnical engineering practice to the needs of the railroad industry, providing recommendations for new track alignment, as well as on-call support for emergency response to restore lines to safe, revenue-producing status.
