MAINTENANCE AND INTELLIGENT PIGGING OF PIPELINES
CONFERENCES
OCTOBER 19 AND NOVEMBER 13, 2006

At the direction of Governor Murkowski and with funding from the Charter for Development of the Alaska North Slope, BP Exploration (Alaska), Inc. (BP), ConocoPhillips Alaska (CPAI) and the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) are hosting two conferences at the Hilton Hotel in Anchorage, Alaska on October 19 and November 13, 2006. The objective of each conference is to examine the latest technology and best practices for corrosion management, monitoring, and inspection of oil pipelines in Arctic climates. The first conference on Maintenance Pigging of Pipelines was held October 19, 2006. The second conference on Intelligent Pigging of Pipelines will be held November 13, 2006. The Intelligent Pigging of Pipelines conference will include presentations from experts familiar with:

  Current practices, conditions, and limitations for pigging of North Slope pipelines;

  Best practices and recent advances in pigging programs for corrosion management of North Slope pipelines;

  Existing and new tools and techniques for performing in-line inspections, and preventing corrosion of pipelines under Arctic conditions; and

  Latest technology in pig designs to assist North Slope pipeline operators increase effectiveness of pigging runs and enable pigging of pipelines considered unpiggable.

Q&A Sessions will be held with the presenters and an Industry and Regulatory Panel following each presentation. These will be followed in the afternoon by Industry and Regulatory Panel Discussion Sessions to generate participation between members of the Industry and Regulatory Panel, presenters, service providers, pig manufacturers, and audience . An Exhibit Hall adjacent to the Conference Room will also be available to participants and interested public during breakfast, coffee breaks, lunch breaks, and a reception at the end of the day ( 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ).
