As one of the first geotechnical firms in Oregon, Shannon & Wilson opened our Portland office in 1961. Since then our Portland Branch has completed more than 3,300 projects. Our in-house records provide project teams with valuable data and historical information for their projects. The Portland office offers local soils laboratory testing including construction quality control. The technical depth and capacity of our firm provides an unsurpassed resource with an exceptional knowledge of Oregon and Southwest Washington geologic and geotechnical conditions.
Our Portland staff provides a holistic picture of a project’s subsurface conditions, needs, and requirements and their range of experience covers all phases of geotechnical engineering: site geologic reconnaissance; subsurface exploration; instrumentation design, installation, and monitoring; evaluation of soil properties; evaluation and mitigation of causative conditions; design, plan review, and construction monitoring. Our senior Portland staff has focused on infrastructure projects for the majority of their careers, and has participated in many of the region’s largest public works projects.
