The Anchorage office offers a full range of geotechnical and environmental engineering capabilities and has a soils laboratory for basic and advanced testing of most of the thawed soils typical of the southcentral and southeast Alaska areas.  Here, we offer extensive experience and knowledge of the area soils through our evaluation of the major landslides and tidal damage that occurred following the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake.  In addition to evaluating all the landslides in Anchorage, we conducted stability and damage studies at Seward, Valdez, and Kodiak.

Since the Anchorage office opened in 1982, our firm has completed over 3,000 geotechnical projects in Anchorage, the Kenai Peninsula, southeast and southcentral Alaska, the Aleutian Chain and many more remote areas of Alaska.  The studies by our staff of 30 have included foundation studies for schools, high rise buildings, office buildings, several industrial warehouse developments, churches, antennas and towers, recreation centers, water/sewer projects, transmission lines and substations, numerous road design and improvement projects, several housing developments and residential developments, wind farm design and hydro power studies.  On many of these projects, we have followed through with reviews of the construction plans and specifications, provided earthwork monitoring services or provided "as needed" consulting services during construction.

We have served as special geotechnical support consultants for most architectural and engineering firms in Alaska, the Municipality of Anchorage, the northern, southcentral and southeast regions of the Alaska DOT&PF, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, USDA Forest Service, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, the Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Air Force, the FAA, the National Park Service, the Alaska Air National Guard, the U.S. Postal Service and many small Alaskan communities.  With offices in Anchorage and Fairbanks, we offer full service geotechnical capabilities including foundation design, drilling services, earthquake engineering, waste management services, laboratory and construction material testing and monitoring throughout much of the State.
